My Experience:

When given the challenge to create a sweded version of a film, I chose The Princess Bride as a nod to a film I watched on repeat as a kid. Being able to organize, direct, and edit this project I learned my love for every area of filmmaking. I adored the opportunity to work with the other filmmaking students and watch their strengths as we worked together. This highlighed my talent to organize a group of people into a well rounded, but fun project.

My Experience:

This project was a good challenge for me. Over months of planning this documentary, finally choosing a date to film with the models, and owners of this business taught me the value of good planning. Dispite my original plan, I learned the value of adapting as other people's schedule changes. I loved working with the girls, and learning to adapt.

My Experience:

This interview was a wonderful experience. I was able to get hands on experience with setting up lighting on my own. This helped me by applying everything I had learned so far in the class into my filmmaking. The documentary turned out lovely, and I'm proud of everything I had learned.

My Experience:

This was one of my first documentaries I had the opportunity of filming. As a one man crew, I struggled to find the balance with juggling everything. I learned how important it is to rely on others. I also learned how important it is to have a good lighting plan prior to flilming.

My Experience:

This passion project for my class helped me adapt my story telling and editing into a different style of film. I liked working on the step to step process of film in conjunction with the step to step process of embroidering. I learned the value of editing with purpose during this project

My Experience:

Gnarly was one of the first projects in Editing 1. I adored being able to work with the material provided and create a documentary. Doing this editing helped give me ideas for how I wanted to edit my own documentaries, and how important it is to have lots of b-roll to work with.

My Experience:

This was a final for Editing 1, which I really enjoyed. I liked that we got to edit the story to the flow of emotion through the dialogue. I think that this helped me learn how important understanding how to edit to the emotion of a story can be.

Role: Sound Mixer

Class: DCPR 2410 | Cinematography 1

My Experience:

This project was a collection of the semester's worth of learning. I adored learning about cinematography and getting better at these skills really helped me become a better filmmaker. I learned so much about lighting and devloping good skills that will benefit future projects. For this project I got to be the sound mixer. It was a lovely chance to focus on getting quality dialogue in a controlled environment. This was a lovely experience.
